I am an applied mathematician and fluid dynamicist, and my research aims to distill important processes in fluid flow and in industrial processes to their key mechanistic description via mathematical modelling, analysis, and numerical simulation.
My research interests include the dynamical systems interpretation of shear flows, algorithmic identification of ocean mixing events, and the modeling and design of industrial paper--making presses.

Employment and Education
I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia working with Prof. Neil Balmforth. I completed my PhD in 2016 at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics with Prof. Colm-cille Caulfield. My thesis focused on the transition to turbulence in stratified shear flows from a dynamical systems viewpoint.
